Artist statement: An interest in movement has permeated my work in all areas, whether it is in still life, landscapes, or portraits. The inspiration for my paintings of dancers has come not only as an observer, but from within, being a dancer myself, as one who has felt the joy in jazz and modern dance. My desire is to convey dance as perceived by the dancer, with love of rhythm, grace and power. Susan offers paintings for sale privately and through local galleries.
